How much will it cost?

When do I have to pay the Solicitors costs and disbursements?
We ask for the Local Search and (if appropriate) coal search fees
"upfront" and the rest on completion.
How long will it take?
This depends on so many factors most of which are outside our control
that it is impossible to say but the best average for a house purchase is 6/8 weeks
What are searches?
They are enquiries of local Authorities, the coal authority as to matters
which may affect your new property
What deposit do I have to pay?
Strictly speaking a 10% deposit should be paid on exchange of contracts
and any balance you are funding on completion but if you have a mortgage
for more than 90% we will sort things out for you.
When do I own the property?
You only 'own' the property from the completion date (subject in most
cases to the mortgage lender 'owning' more than you do!) However you
have an 'insurable interest' from exchange of contracts and should put
your insurance in place then.
